This vegan ranch dressing is delicious creamy and it tastes just like traditional ranch dressing. It’s made with a handful of simple ingredients. No cashews, nutritional yeast, plant milk or vinegar here. You will love how simple it is to make and how amazing it tastes! You may want to make a double batch!

A lot of vegan ranch dressings are made with cashews, nutritional yeast or plant milk, which to be honest, I will never understand why, because it’s so easy to make a really great tasting vegan ranch with just a few tweaks to traditional ranch dressing. For instance, we use a vegan mayo instead of regular mayo blended with water instead of milk or buttermilk (so this dressing contains less fat and cholesterol and fewer calories than traditional ranch), and we toss in fresh garlic and green onion (which adds a whole lot of flavor to this dressing). It is so simple to make and it tastes just as good as traditional buttermilk ranch dressing!! Maybe even better!

Vegan Ranch Recipe

This Vegan Ranch Salad Dressing comes together in about 5 minutes start-to-finish. But you’ll want to refrigerate it for up to an hour to allow the flavors to really blend together.

  • Vegan Mayonnaise. Use a good quality vegan mayonnaise (I use Best Foods vegan mayo).  Not a vegan? Use real mayonnaise like Best Foods or Hellman’s.
  • Seasoning. We use dried dill weed, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and freshly cracked black pepper. We also blend in one crushed garlic clove and one chopped green onion to the mix which gives this dressing an amazing flavor. If you don’t have green onion, then add in 1/2 teaspoon dried chives to the mix.
  • Water. We add water (instead of milk or buttermilk) to thin the dressing to desired consistency.
