This Chipotle Ranch Salad Dressing comes together in about 5 minutes start-to-finish. But you’ll want to refrigerate it for up to an hour (longer even better) to allow the flavors to really blend together.

Homemade Chipotle Ranch Dressing Recipe

  • Mayonnaise. We use a good real mayonnaise like Best Foods (Hellman’s).
  • Sour Cream. This adds a richness to the flavor of the dressing.
  • Seasoning.  We add fresh garlic and green onion together with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and freshly cracked black pepper to season this dressing with.
  • Adobo Sauce. We stir in a little adobo sauce to the mix which gives this dressing an amazing flavor.
  • Water. We thin the dressing out with a little water. You can use milk or buttermilk if you prefer.

Variations

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of lime juice. The lime blends really well with the chipotle flavor.
  • We only add enough adobo sauce to this dressing to add flavor and a wee bit of spice. If you want a spicier dressing, then add 1/4 to 1/2 of a canned Chipotle pepper, or more as you like.
