Broccoli is a nutritional powerhouse rich with potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and detoxifying benefits that promote good health. It’s related to cauliflower, brussel sprouts, kale and cabbage.  These plants are collectively known as “cruciferous vegetables”.

How much should we eat?  We should try to include cruciferous vegetables in our diets  2-3 times a week.  Each serving size should be at least 1-1/2 cups at a minimum.  It’s easy to incorporate cruciferous vegetables into your diet by adding it to salads and soups, or steam it for a side or serve it raw with your favorite low-fat dressing or dip.
