Best Mediterranean Salad Dressing Recipe Ingredients
You’ll need just a handful of ingredients to make this delicious dressing!
- Lemon juice. Adds a nice perkiness to the mix.
- Garlic. Adds a lot of flavor that goes really well with the other ingredients.
- Dried oregano. This adds to the Mediterranean flavor of this dressing.
- Extra-virgin olive oil. We use extra-virgin olive oil, but you can use light olive oil or avocado oil if you prefer.
- Seasoning. Just a pinch of black pepper, red pepper flakes and salt to season this salad with.

Variations
- Add 1 shallot, peeled and finely minced.
- Add a second garlic clove if you want a good and garlicky dressing.
- Add 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (this will emulsify the dressing a bit and add a pop of flavor).
- Add 1 teaspoon of honey if you want to add a hint of sweetness.
- Stir in another tablespoon of water if you want to mellow the tartness of the lemon.
- Blend in 1-2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese.
- If you don’t have any lemons, then substitute the lemon juice with white wine vinegar or red wine vinegar.

- Blender. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and pulse a few times to blend the ingredients.
- Whisk. You can also add all of the ingredients to a bowl and whisk together using a wire whisk.
- Storage. Store the dressing in a mason jar or an airtight container in the refrigerator. If properly stored, it should last up to 5 days.
How To Use Mediterranean Dressing
This Mediterranean dressing is perfect to toss with any type of salad, such as leafy greens, bean, pasta and quinoa salads. It also makes a pretty amazing marinade for vegetables, chicken and fish.
- Salad. Toss with a bowl of leafy green salad.
- Sandwiches. Drizzle over tomato and greens or mix a little dressing in with a little mayo and you’ve got an amazing sandwich spread!
- Marinade. This dressing doubles as a marinade for chicken or fish
- Vegetables. The next time you roast vegetables on the grill or in your oven – drizzle some of this dressing over the top of the vegetables just before serving.

Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
- 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and whisk together using a wire whisk or add the ingredients to a mason jar, seal the lid well and shall vigorously to blend the ingredients. You can also add the ingredients to a wide mouth mason jar and use a stick blender (immersion blender) to quickly blend the ingredients together.
- Store the dressing in a mason jar or an airtight container in the refrigerator. If properly stored, it should last up to 5 days.
