Learn how to make Basic Vinaigrette like a pro with this simple vinaigrette recipe.
One thing I really love is a good salad with lots of ingredients and a heart healthy salad dressing. I have a few favorite vinaigrettes, but this Basic Vinaigrette is the one that I make most often. It’s easy to make and I always have the ingredients on hand.
The basics to remember when making a vinaigrette is one part vinegar (or lemon juice) mixed with three to four parts oil. Such as 1/4 cup vinegar (or lemon juice) to 3/4 cup oil.
Vinaigrette Recipe
- 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper
How to Make Vinaigrette
- You can add the ingredients to a mason jar and vigorously shake to mix, or add the ingredients to a bowl and blend with a wire whisk.
- This basic vinaigrette is also really good if you add finely minced sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives to the mix.
