Southwest Ranch Dressing Recipe Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise. We use a good real mayonnaise like Best Foods (Hellman’s).
  • Adobo Sauce. We stir in a little adobo sauce to the mix which gives this dressing an amazing flavor and a wee bit of spice. If you want a spicier dressing, then add more adobo sauce from the canned chipotle peppers 1 teaspoon at a time to taste.
  • Barbecue Sauce.  We add barbecue sauce to the mix – and the combo of chipotle adobo sauce with barbecue sauce is pretty awesome!
  • Lime Juice. We add just a little lime juice which enhances the chipotle flavor.
  • Buttermilk. This adds flavor and thins the dressing out.
  • Seasoning.  We add fresh garlic and green onion together with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and freshly cracked black pepper to season this dressing with.

Why You’ll Love This Southwest Dressing

  • It’s Better Than Store-Bought.  Making any dressing at home from scratch is always a better idea than buying the bottled stuff from the store. When you make dressings at home, you can choose fresh ingredients and you can control the amount of salt and sugar. Some of the bottled stuff may contain preservatives and artificial flavors – homemade doesn’t have any preservatives or artificial flavors.
  • It’s Quick And Easy To Make. Making dressings from scratch literally takes just 5 minutes. Buy yourself some new mason jars so you can store your new favorite homemade dressings in them. Of course they’ll need to be stored in the refrigerator to stay fresh.
  • It Tastes Amazing. This dressing has a great combo of flavors!
  • You’ll Be Hooked. Once you get in the habit of making homemade salad dressings, you’ll forget all about your favorite store-bought bottled dressings!
