We use fresh apple juice for this hot spiced apple cider, which you can purchase at your local market or health food store, or juice your own using an assortment of apples such as Gala, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, etc.

HOT APPLE CIDER RECIPE

This is a quick and easy apple cider recipe that uses just 5 ingredients!  

  • 1 quart fresh squeezed apple juice
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 orange, sliced and quartered (yes keep the outer peel on the slices)
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and cut into 6 slices

HOW TO MAKE APPLE CIDER

With this recipe, making apple cider couldn’t be easier.  This fresh apple cider takes about 15-20 minutes start to finish, unless you’re juicing your own apples – in which case, may take an extra 5-7 minutes.

  1. Combine the ingredients in a large saucepan and simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Strain and serve with a quarter slice of the orange and a cinnamon stick.
