Growing up my mom always served cantaloupe and tomatoes whenever we’d have fried eggs and hash browns for breakfast.  So I grew up loving cantaloupe!   Then I became obsessed with it once I started making this cantaloupe smoothie bowl.

Cantaloupe Slush Recipe

  • Cantaloupe. We use frozen cantaloupe for this recipe.
  • Coconut Water. Coconut water adds a nice exotic flavor to the mix.
  • Lime Juice Lime juice enhances the flavor of cantaloups.
  • Honey. You can add a little honey if you want things a little sweeter.

How To Make Cantaloup Slush

  1. Prepare Ingredients. Peel and chop the cantaloupe. Place in the freezer until you’re ready to blend.
  2. Blend Ingredients. Toss all of the ingredients in your NutriBullet, food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Add a little more coconut water if it’s too thick.
  3. Garnish. Top with fruits, nuts and seeds if you like.
  4. Enjoy. Serve with a spoon (it’s on the thicker side so a straw doesn’t work very well).

How to Pick a Cantaloupe

The best way to choose a cantaloupe is by smelling it.  It should smell sweet. And the stem end should slightly yield when pressed with your thumb. If the cantaloup isn’t quite ripe, let it sit at room temperature for up to 2 days to ripen.  Whole ripe uncut melon will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, and cut melon will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
